First, we examine design choices made by the organization to date and the effect these choices have had on the organization and on its outcomes. Second, we identify design choices that create the ideal organization to achieve your desired future outcomes. Third, we identify the gaps between its current state and future state then plan how best to design, align, and deploy solutions.

The Organizational Systems Design (OSD) model, shown here, emphasizes design for purpose and alignment. We believe that you get what you design and that if you want different results then you need to change the design. As the old saying goes, “If you always do what you have always done, then you will always get what you always got”. The OSD model is useful for framing an organization’s thinking about its current and future design, but it does not dictate any one set of design choices.
